The Illinois Children’s Mental Health Partnership (ICMHP) has awarded KSF with the Family Leadership Initiative Grant for Region V (southern 33 counties of IL). Region V currently has five groups in place for the families and caregivers of children throughout Southern Illinois. These groups meet monthly in Alton, Belleville, Metropolis, Vienna, and Cairo, IL. The mission of the Regional Family Leadership Initiative is the active engagement of parents and caregivers in all aspects of promoting their child’s optimal social and emotional development and overall mental health. A key component is to provide families with easy access to needed information, resources and supports.
The Family Leadership groups include presentations on topics based on the participants needs. Dinner and daycare are available at some of the group meetings.
